About Orange Creamsicle co*cktail

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a great Halloween!

an old friend of mine and Ihad an unexpected opportunity to hang with the neighbors all block-party style on Halloween night, but we were still able to squeeze our movie night in.

I was brought up to speed on all the Evil Dead movies (none of which I hadseen before) and then wefinished off the marathon by watching the new Ash vs Evil Deadon Starz.

Which, I might add, looks like it’ll be a pretty funshow – definitely worth checking out!

But for the movie night itself, I had all the drinks and food ready, exactly as I had planned… plus one extra addition.

I saw a video on Facebook on how to make this creamsicle drink, and though I wasn’t able to track down the video again, it was easy enough to remember how to put it together – since it’s only three ingredients!

And you guys know I’m all about the easy drinks.

This co*cktail comes alive with only vanilla vodka, orange soda, and Reddi-Wip.

And that’s just too easy, amirite?

The orange and vanilla flavors go a long way in creating the classic creamsicle flavor, but the real bonus (in my opinion, anyway!) is the whipped cream.

The soda and the alcohol react with the cream, creating a bunch of extra froth that tastes even better when mixed back in the drink.

It definitelyadds a little fun and kick to this adult twist on a childhood taste.

I made a lot of drinks during our movie night, including the Purple People Eater co*cktail, and I still think this “new” drink came out on top.

The fall-themed orange huealso means this creamsicle drink will be the perfect crowd-pleasing beverage throughout the rest of the holiday season (and probably during the spring and summer, too!)

Cheers to our childhoods!

Our favorite flavor is all grown up!

How to measure this co*cktail

Thisco*cktailis written like a standard drink recipe, meaning that instead of an exact measurement (ex: 1 cup) the recipe will read “1 part.”

This can sometimes be a little confusing, but I’ve found the best way to think of it as this: Recipes that measure in parts usually mean it’s written so that you can adjust the size of the drink to whatever you want and the measurements they give you (1 part, 1/2 part, etc) are so you can keep the ratio of the ingredients correct.

For example, let’s say you wanted to make one drink – this typically means you’re using 1 standard shot glass for measuring. So then when the recipe says “1 part” you would interpret that amount as “1 standard shot glass” full. If the recipe says “1/2 part” you’d fill the shot glass halfway so that it’s “1/2 standard shot glass.” OR, let’s say you wanted to make enough drinks for a few friends. When making the drink you couldinterpret “1 part” as “1 cup” (or “1/2 part” to “1/2 cup.”)

This way the drink will taste the same no matter what size you make it.

What is the exact measurements for one drink?

In a hurry and want simple measurements for just one drink? No problem! Just use this as a guide:

  • 1 oz vanilla vodka
  • 6 oz orange soda

You can also select “Metric” measurements in the recipe card below to see these numbers.
