How to make easy reindeer cupcakes?

  1. Bake cupcakes- Cool completely.
  2. Prepare frosting- Fill a piping bag with it.
  3. Add reindeer decor- Swirl of frosting, pretzel halves for antlers, eye candy, red gum ball nose, and bow candy on the head.

Variations for Rudolph cupcakes/ Rudolf cupcakes

Make another type of bow- Those bow candies I used were an impulsive purchase while grocery shopping. I have never seen those before and they had a small box of them in the seasonal aisle. If you can't find them, omit them or just make a small bow out of craft paper. You can even make it out of wafer paper or make Fondant Bows. You can even arrange two heart sprinkles in a bow shape.

Try other cupcake flavors- These Best Red Velvet Cupcakes {With Cream Cheese Frosting} would be awesome! Chocolate Chip Cupcakes (With Mint Frosting) or even these Brownie Cupcakes {From Scratch} would be delicious.

Pair with other frosting flavors- Such as Caramel Frosting, Easy Chocolate Ganache {2 Ingredients}, or Chocolate Buttercream Frosting Recipe.

Make boy reindeers- By giving them a bow tie instead of a hair bow.

Add a mouth- Using some candy or Marshmallow Fondant (Fondant Recipe for Cakes).

Use festive cupcake liners- For even more fun and additional cute appeal.

Use another icing tip- For a different style of frosting swirl, use Tip 1M instead of 4B.

Tips and techniques for Christmas holiday cupcakes

Don't ice warm cupcakes- Let them cool completely because the icing will melt and slide right off the cupcakes.

Use large pretzels- Not the small ones because the proportions will be off and look silly.

I used big eyeball candies, but you can use the smaller regular sized ones- Use whatever is available to you or whichever you prefer.

How to package cupcakes? Check out this post on Easy Food and Cookie Packaging Ideas.

How to fill a piping bag? Place the bag inside a tall glass and fold the top of the bag over the edge of the glass. Then spoon the icing into the bag .

Storage of cupcakes

Refrigerate- Leftovers can be stored in a sealed container for up to 3 days. Please note that the pretzel antlers may become a little soggy.

Freeze- Unfrosted cupcakes and frosting can be stored in sealed containers for up to 1 month. When you are ready to enjoy these cupcakes, thaw to room temperature and decorate, as per instructions below.
